Free ATS Resume & Keyword-Match Checker

Paste your resume and a job description to see your keyword match score, exactly which terms are missing, and simple formatting red flags that can trip up ATS software.

What this does: extracts the meaningful keywords from a job description, checks how many of them already appear in your resume text, and shows a match percentage plus the matched and missing terms. It also scans your resume for a few common ATS-unfriendly formatting issues (too short, tab/column formatting, missing email). Everything runs in your browser; nothing is uploaded anywhere.

Frequently asked questions

How does this tool decide which keywords matter in a job description?

It lowercases the job description, removes a small list of common filler words (like "the", "and", "experience", "required"), and treats every remaining unique word as a keyword. Keywords are ranked by how often they appear in the posting. This is a transparent word-frequency method, not an AI model.

Does a low match percentage mean I won't get an interview?

No. The match percentage only measures word overlap between your resume and the job posting; it does not assess your actual qualifications. Use it as a guide to add relevant, truthful keywords to your resume, not as a pass/fail score.

Is my resume or the job description uploaded anywhere?

No. All text analysis runs locally in your browser with plain JavaScript. Nothing is uploaded to a server, no account is required, and no data is stored after you close or reload the page.
