Flashcard Maker (Spaced Repetition)

Build flashcard decks and study them with a Leitner-style spaced repetition scheduler. Everything stays on your device.

What this does: lets you create decks of term/definition flashcards (typed one by one or pasted in bulk), then study them in a Show Answer / Got It / Missed It loop that uses a 5-box Leitner system to resurface struggling cards sooner and space out cards you know well. Decks are saved to your browser's localStorage — no signup, no server upload.

Frequently asked questions

How does the spaced repetition scheduling in this flashcard maker work?

Cards use a 5-box Leitner system. Every new card starts in box 1 and is due immediately. Marking a card "Got it" moves it up a box and pushes its next due date further out (1, 3, 7, 14, then 30 days). Marking it "Missed it" resets it to box 1 so it comes back due again the next day.

Is my flashcard data uploaded anywhere?

No. Decks, cards, and study progress are stored only in your browser's localStorage. Nothing is sent to a server, and your decks stay on the device you created them on.

Can I add many flashcards at once instead of typing each one?

Yes. Paste a block of text into the bulk-add box with one card per line, formatted as a term followed by a tab or comma and then a definition. The tool splits each line and adds every valid pair as a new card.
