Multi-Platform Marketplace Fee & Profit Calculator

Enter one sale once, then compare your net profit and margin across Etsy, Shopify, Amazon FBA, eBay, Walmart Marketplace, and TikTok Shop side by side, using each platform's fee structure.

What this does: computes net profit and profit margin for the exact same sale across six selling platforms (Etsy, Shopify, Amazon FBA, eBay, Walmart Marketplace, TikTok Shop) using each platform's standard fee structure, and highlights which one keeps you the most money. All fee rates are editable number fields, since published rates change and vary by category. Everything runs in your browser; nothing is uploaded anywhere.

Fees are calculated on item price + shipping charged to the buyer (the total the buyer pays), matching how most marketplaces apply their percentage fees. Net profit = price + shipping charged − item cost − actual shipping paid − total fees. Rates shown are general illustrative defaults; actual fees vary by category, seller plan, country and promotions — verify current rates directly on each platform.

Frequently asked questions

Which marketplace has the lowest seller fees?

Shopify usually has the lowest per-sale fees because it charges only payment processing (about 2.9% + $0.30) and no marketplace commission, unlike Etsy, Amazon, eBay, Walmart Marketplace, and TikTok Shop, which all take a referral, transaction, or commission cut in exchange for built-in buyer traffic. Shopify's tradeoff is that you must drive your own traffic and typically pay a monthly subscription, which this calculator does not include.

How is net profit calculated in this tool?

Net profit equals your item sale price plus the shipping you charge the buyer, minus your item cost (COGS), the actual shipping cost you pay, and that platform's total fees (referral or commission percentage, plus any listing fee, payment processing fee, or fulfillment fee that applies). Profit margin is net profit divided by total revenue (price plus shipping charged), shown as a percentage.

Are the default marketplace fee percentages accurate?

The defaults are illustrative approximations of each platform's commonly published standard rates and are not guaranteed to be current. Actual rates vary by product category, seller plan, promotions, and country, and platforms change their fee schedules over time. Every rate field in this calculator is editable, so enter the exact current rate from Etsy, Shopify, Amazon Seller Central, eBay, Walmart Marketplace, or TikTok Shop before relying on the result for a business decision.
