What happens if my PDF is password-protected?

This simple tool does not support entering a password. If the file requires one to open, you will see a clear error message and the PDF will not be processed here.

Which DPI setting should I choose?

Low (96 DPI) is fine for quick previews or web use, Medium (150 DPI) is a good balance for most documents, and High (300 DPI) is best for printing but produces larger files and takes longer to render, especially on long documents.

Is there a page limit, and is my PDF uploaded anywhere?

There is no hard limit, but documents over about 50 pages show a warning because rendering many pages at once can be slow, especially at higher DPI. Nothing is uploaded: the PDF is opened and rendered entirely in your browser using pdf.js.
