Frequently asked questions
Is a receipt generated by this tool legally valid?
A rent receipt is generally accepted as valid proof of payment when it clearly states the landlord, tenant, property address, amount paid, payment date, payment method, and the rental period covered, which this tool includes. Some states and lease agreements have their own required receipt content or delivery rules, so check your local landlord-tenant law or lease before relying on it for legal purposes.
How does the late fee calculator work?
It counts the days between the rent due date and the actual payment date. If that gap is within your grace period, no fee applies. Once the gap exceeds the grace period, it charges either a one-time flat fee or a daily fee multiplied by the number of days late beyond the grace period, depending on which fee structure you select.
Does this tool store or send my tenant and payment data anywhere?
No. Everything is calculated and rendered entirely in your browser. Nothing is uploaded to a server or saved between visits, so refreshing or closing the page clears whatever you entered.
