Secret Santa Generator
Draw a fair gift exchange with exclusions. Nobody gets themselves, couples never match, and it all runs in your browser.
Frequently asked questions
How does this Secret Santa generator handle exclusion rules?
For each participant you can tick anyone they must never be paired with, such as partners, siblings, or people who already exchange gifts. The draw only accepts an assignment where nobody is matched to themselves and every exclusion you set is respected, so couples never draw each other.
Is the draw random, and does it stay private?
Yes. Shuffling uses your device's Web Crypto random generator, so each draw is genuinely random and runs entirely in your browser with nothing sent to a server. Results are revealed one person at a time: each participant taps their own name to see who they gift, so the group can draw on a single shared screen without spoiling the surprise.
What does "exclusions too restrictive" mean?
It means no valid pairing exists, or is extremely unlikely, given your rules, for example two people who exclude each other in a group of two, or one person excluded by nearly everyone. The tool retries thousands of randomized shuffles and, if none succeed, stops instead of hanging. Remove some exclusions or add more participants, then draw again.
