Frequently asked questions
Can this tool edit existing text inside my PDF?
No. This tool lets you add new text and a signature on top of any page; it does not rewrite or edit text that is already part of the PDF. That covers signing, annotating, and filling gaps, but it is not a full PDF text editor.
Is this PDF editor free, and does it work without installing anything?
Yes. It is completely free with no signup, and it runs entirely in your browser using the pdf.js and pdf-lib JavaScript libraries. There is no installation and no server upload: your PDF and signature are processed on your own device.
Is my PDF or signature uploaded anywhere?
No. Your PDF file, the text you add, and your drawn signature are processed entirely in your browser's memory using JavaScript. Nothing is sent to a server, so your document stays private on your device.
Does this work with password-protected PDFs?
PDFs that only restrict printing or editing (but do not require a password to open) work fine here. PDFs that require a password just to open are not supported by this editor. If you hit an error while saving, try this site's PDF Password Remover tool first, then re-upload the unlocked file here.
