Frequently asked questions
Is it safe to sign a sensitive document with this tool?
Yes. Your PDF, your signature, and the finished file are processed entirely in your browser's memory using JavaScript (pdf.js and pdf-lib); nothing is uploaded to a server at any point, before, during, or after signing. That is what makes it appropriate for contracts, medical forms, or any document you would not want to hand to a third-party server.
Can I place the same signature on more than one page?
Yes. Once you create a signature in Step 2, you can click on any page to place a copy of it, then drag to reposition or use the corner handle to resize each placement independently. This makes it easy to sign multiple pages of the same document in one pass.
What if my uploaded signature photo has a white background?
The tool automatically treats near-white pixels in an uploaded signature image as transparent, so a signature photographed on white paper drops its background instead of pasting a white box onto your PDF. Signatures you draw or type are already transparent by default.
Does this work with password-protected PDFs?
PDFs that only restrict printing or editing (but do not require a password to open) work fine here. PDFs that require a password just to open are not supported by this tool. If you hit an error while downloading, try this site's PDF Password Remover tool first, then re-upload the unlocked file here.
